About Denise

Denise Lane has been living and playing music in Tucson AZ since 2002. Formerly of the Bay Area, where she fell in love with theatre and music, she wrote her first song for the piano at 18, but it wasn't until she picked up the guitar that she really dug into songwriting.  

Once in Tucson, she started The Spurloafers with drummer Ashley Chamberlain.  They were joined by Bruce Langevin, Dean Maier, and Rob Martin.  They released 2 albums, The Spurloafers and Lost Album. 

In 2019, she started the folk/blues/country trio The Jane Heirs with  fellow songwriters Kristie Cunningham and Kathy Kolmer.  The band is still going, although the cast of characters has changed over time. 

In 2022, she began playing music with singer/songwriter Tammy West as Unsettled, an angsty, moody, dreamy duo initially inspired by 90s music which has led to a great deal of collaborative songwriting. 

in 2023 Denise began writing a rock opera, returning a to her musical theatre rootsf, also in collaboration with Tammy West.

Denise released her first solo album Can You Hear It? in 2026.
